The Regiment is pleased to announce the appointment of Del Staveley as the new Colonel Commandant. He replaces Colonel Stuart Anderson, who has decided to retire after a number of years of dedicated service and leadership for the 78th. We express our heartfelt thanks to Colonel Anderson and wish him the best of health and happiness in the coming years.
Colonel Del Staveley joined the Fort Calgary Garrison as a Volunteer Sergeant in 1991. He served as President of the Mess Committee for 3 years; as Band Officer for 1 ½ years, as Deputy Officer Commanding for 1 ½ years and then as Officer Commanding for 3 years, where he did an outstanding job. He was then appointed Pacific Regional Commander in 2003, and moved permanently from Fort Calgary to Fort Victoria in 2016. Del was appointed Regimental Second in command in 2017. Del has been there for the Regiment through the best and worst of times. He is most appropriate for this position.
